Danica
Vorster carves her
way through the
water to more titles
LOCAL paddler and
second-year
University of KZN
student, Danica
Vorster, has been
awarded the
University of KZN
Sports Woman of the
Year Award for 2006.
This is the second
year she has won
this prestigious
title.
Danica was the only
woman to complete
the uShaka Challenge
in Richards Bay
earlier in the year
and was also the
only woman to
complete the 73km
Dolphin Coast surf
ski race.
Another notable
achievement was
completing the Ticor
Mouth to Mouth surf
ski mixed doubles
race from Richards
Bay to Mtunzini with
partner Angus
Ferguson.
Danica has also won
all the U21 SA river
titles with the SA
K1 title being the
Highlands Challenge
held in Bethlehem
over two days as
well as completing
the Fish River
Marathon SA K2 U21
race in a record
time.
She is currently
studying for a Bsc
in Property
Development.
