Wildlife burnt to
the ground in the
early hours of
Tuesday.
‘At 5am staff heard
the roaring sound of
a big fire and
rushed to the
office, only find
the wooden building
engulfed in flames,’
said EKZNW spokesman
Jeff Gaisford.
‘It was impossible
to save the
structure and its
contents and staff
could only watch as
it was reduced to
ashes within about
half an hour.
‘There were no
injuries, although
all the office
equipment was
destroyed.
‘EKZNW is
investigating the
cause of the fire,
and we ask visitors
to Kosi Bay to bear
with us until
temporary
arrangements can be
put in place.’
There will be no
cold drink, bait or
ice sales until
alternative
arrangements can be
put in place.
