Best teacher in SA

Teacher of the year - Ngogi Mahaye

NKANDLA can really boast about its standard of education as Mr Ngogi Mahaye of Velangaye Secondary was crowned as the winner in the category ‘Excellence in Secondary School Teaching’ at the 2006 National Teachers Awards on Thursday.
In fact, KZN teachers ruled the roost as they walked away with two first positions, one second and two third positions in five of the eight categories.
KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC - Ina Cronjé is extremely proud to have excelled at the National Teachers Awards ceremony once again. ‘What was exceptional about KwaZulu-Natal, was the number of schools that entered groups in the different categories. This is indicative of the team spirit at those schools. It was most encouraging to see that the winning teachers represented the demographics of KwaZulu-Natal. The message is clear: KwaZulu-Natal teachers are ready to excel!’
