A century of golf

Clive Chesterton dedicates the James Stevenson Committee Room. He is watched by Dave Gardiner

Senior golf writer for the Compleat Golfer magazine, John Botha kept the audience amused after dinner

Dave Davenport proposed a toast to the future of the eShowe Golf Club and the eShowe Hills Eco-Estate

Larry Bentley

ESHOWE Golf Club celebrated a significant milestone in its illustrious history of 100 years.
At the gala dinner after the dedication of the James Stevenson Committee Room, various members paid tribute to the ‘names’ and ‘characters’ who have played golf over the century.
Frans Snyman, John McHugh, J Sibiya, Wally Latham and Dr Don Clark all recalled their golfing partners and recapped on personal, funny moments which will never be forgotten and in many cases forgiven.
Senior golf writer of Compleat Golfer magazine, John Botha quickly picked up on the mood of the evening and added his own insights into the game of golf.
Fittingly, Dave Davenport proposed a toast to the eShowe Golf Club and the partnership with the eShowe Hills Eco-Estate.
